Theories of learning and Information and Communications Technology
Norbert PACHLER
Amidst the many recent
changes in the world of
Information and
Communications
Technology (ICT) and the
media hype surrounding
them, knowledge about
factors influencing the
best pedagogical
exploitation and the most
effective application of
new technologies in
formal educational
settings is slowly but
surely emerging. The aim
of this chapter is to
explore the potential of
ICT in relation to some of
what we know about how
we learn as a basis for
sound decisions for
teachers when best and
how to use ICT in their
work with pupils.
