The Twelve Apostles

When Verity Ryder witnesses the death of a clergyman with whom she has little connection, his final whispered words — The Twelve Apostles — seem highly mysterious.

For some reason, they seem to refer to her nephew, Adam, who Verity knows is involved with something beyond his control.

But any knowledge the clergyman might have had is lost for ever.

Chief Inspector Webb is called in to investigate.

And before long he unearths some human remains in the nearby wood.

They have clearly been there for a long time, but could they have anything to do with the clergyman’s death?
